Keeping tension on your timing chain is imperative for keeping the camshafts turning properly. The guide rails in your timing set keeps everything tracking properly. So we decided to substitute the ratty plastic guide rail with the tough durable lower left side metal guide rail out of the B7 RS4. Now you'll never have to worry about you'll never have too worry about the durability of your timing components.
If the chain develops poor tension because of damage or excessive wear, the proper timing set can skip a tooth. This could potentially result in catastrophic damage ruining the engine. Replace the worn parts at the first sign of wear to prevent severe engine damage.
